By anthropomorphizing television and assigning it low self-esteem, Television Hates Itself
challenges viewers to reassess their relationship with TV.

Television Hates Itself was written by Phil Barcio.

In March, 2008, through a collaboration with his wife Audrey, a site-specific installation artist,
Phil presented the work as a video installation at Big Car Gallery in Indianapolis.
